Types of Braces

Metal Braces

Metal braces are the most common type. They are made of high-grade stainless steel. Today's metal braces are smaller, more comfortable and more attractive.

OrthoCAD iQ

Utilizing the OrthoCAD iQ system, we can create customized bracket trays and get an accurate preview of your new teeth alignment before the braces come off. Best of all, we can fit braces faster and easier, which means you’ll enjoy reduced treatment time and fewer office visits.

First, we will take a detailed 3-D image of your teeth. Once the image appears on the screen, we can adjust and or refine several treatment options to create the smile of your dreams!

Once you and your orthodontist agree upon a specific outcome, the information is sent electronically to the OrthoCAD Center where professional technicians will manufacture your bracket trays.

Once we receive your trays, fitting your braces will be a breeze! And because of the accuracy of the OrthoCAD iQ system, you’ll spend less time in your braces. You’re on your way to a healthy, beautiful smile!

Ceramic Braces

Ceramic braces are made of translucent (clear) material. They are most popular with adult patients, due to their cosmetic appeal. The only drawback to ceramic brackets are that they are more fragile, and the elastic ties can discolor between orthodontic visits.

Invisalign®

The Invisalign® System is a series of clear overlay templates—called aligners—that have been generated by computer simulation to gradually move the teeth. This system is available to adult patients with certain orthodontic bite problems. Ask us if you are a candidate for the Invisalign® system.

Smart Clip

Smart Clip is a self-ligating appliance system for braces that, unlike other similar products, doesn’t involve opening or closing gates or doors on the device to insert or place archwires. The brackets are designed for easy archwire access as the wires simply “snap” into the bracket.

In addition, colorless, light-sensitive adhesives make the procedure faster, cleaner and less noticeable. This means that patients have reduced discomfort caused by adjustments as they do not spend as much time in the chair and they receive efficient, reliable tooth movement.

Increased comfort, faster treatment time and overall reliability make the Smart Clip a good choice for many patients. If you have any questions, consult your orthodontist.
